About Us

About Democrats of Camden County

We are a group of concerned citizens working to improve the quality of life in Camden County.

Democrats include people from all walks of life who are united in the belief that good government depends on the active involvement of all citizens.

Fiscal responsibility, effective and responsible national defense, civil rights, environmental protection, quality public education, health care access, veterans’ concerns and workers’ rights are only a few of the issues that Democrats continue to champion.

Who We Are

The Camden County Democratic Committee is the county’s political extension of the Democratic Party of Georgia. Our voting body is comprised of 4 Democrats from each of the 5 County Commission Districts within Camden County. Voting members are elected by caucus during regular Camden County Democratic Committee business meetings in even/odd numbered years, but anyone may apply to fill vacant seats any time.

We engage in Get-Out-The-Vote activities year round, election years are more active. District by district, we find opportunities to increase Democratic performance and improve Democratic participation throughout the County.  We work to support our Democratic elected officials during difficult legislative battles. In spite of a challenging political climate, we are striving to become the machine the reflects Democratic values “We The People”.

Above all, we stand for social and economic justice. It’s time for you to stand with us in this important work. To make a real difference, we need Democrats from all walks of life and every Commissioner district in our County.

Membership

Democrats in Camden County, GA are invited to participate in the activities and events of the Camden County Democrats. The best place to start is by attending a monthly meeting or by signing up for our mailing list. However, if you’d like to become a voting member of the body, the process is a little more involved.

Voting members of the Camden County Democratic Party Committee (DOCC) are called Post Seat Holders. Holding a Post Seat empowers you to vote on formal business administered at the DOCC Business Meetings and in party elections conducted by the DOCC (such as those for Officers and State Committee Members). Holding a Post Seat qualifies you to run for some of these elected positions as well.
